Inter’s president Steven Zhang held another transfer summit with Antonio Conte and the club’s management yesterday, according to Tuttosport.

Zhang visited training at Appiano Gentile and took the opportunity to ask his employers what the Nerazzurri still needed to do before the 2 September deadline.

Conte wants another reinforcement on the left-hand side of his 3-5-2 system, having decided Dalbert is not reliable in defence and Kwadwo Asamoah needs back-up.

Cristiano Biraghi is a name that interests the club in that position, not least because the Fiorentina full-back would be eligible for a homegrown slot in their Champions League squad.

Inter attempted to start talks with the Viola over a swap deal involving Dalbert and Biraghi, but the Brazilian will only consider a return to Ligue 1 if he leaves Inter.

Dalbert’s former club Nice are prepared to resign him on loan with an option to buy, having sold the player to Inter for more than €20 million two summers ago.

Ante Rebic is another option for Inter on the left but the Eintracht Frankfurt man would cost up to €40 million.

Paris Saint-Germain’s outgoing full-back Layvin Kurzawa was a fourth name discussed yesterday, but neither Beppe Marotta nor Piero Ausilio are convinced by his profile.
