Sergej Milinkovic-Savic again distanced himself from reports linking him to Inter and Paris Saint-Germain today.

The Lazio midfielder was reportedly close to Manchester United earlier in the summer but talks never fully materialised.

Many are surprised the 24-year-old is still on the Biancoceleste’s books, but Milinkovic-Savic insisted he was very happy in the capital.

He told Sport Plus: “You will never hear me say I want to leave Lazio.

“I’ve never mentioned a possible move to United, it was only an article in a newspaper. I’m not worried about anything because I know there’s time for an eventual transfer.

“If something has to happen, it will happen. So far there’s nothing and we’re going ahead here at Lazio. I have new challenges to face at this club.”

Milinkovic-Savic scored seven goals for Simone Inzaghi’s side last season as they finished eighth in Serie A and won the Coppa Italia.

He joined the club from Genk in a €10 million deal four years ago and has become one of European football’s hottest prospects since.
