Ivan Perisic will prove an ‘exceptional’ signing for Bayern Munich after completing a loan move from Inter, according to the Nerazzurri’s former striker Jurgen Klinsmann.

The Croatian hopes to earn a permanent move to the Bundesliga giants after Inter gave them an option to buy for a reported fee of €20 million.

Inter signed Perisic from Wolfsburg in 2015 and have since been repaid with 40 goals in 162 appearances across all competitions.

Asked about this season’s title race in Germany, Klinsmann told Kicker: “Things are a little different given this will be the first year without Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben for Bayern.

“However, the Bavarians have recruited Lucas Hernandez and two more exceptional players in Perisic and Benjamin Pavard.”

Klinsmann scored 40 goals in 123 appearances for Inter, helping Giovanni Trapattoni’s side win the UEFA Cup in 1991.

He also spent two seasons playing for Bayern later in his career, securing another UEFA Cup triumph and one Bundesliga title.
