Gabriel Barbosa wants a second chance to succeed in Europe after impressing on loan at Flamengo this year, according to Extra in Brazil.
The striker joined Inter from Santos in a €30 million deal three years ago, but scored just once in nine appearances.
He has since revived his career during spells with Santos and Flamengo, scoring nine goals in 10 league games so far this season.
Flamengo hope they can make his loan deal permanent, after it expires on 31 December, but Gabigol would prefer to return to Europe and avenge his disastrous 18 months there.
Benfica took the 23-year-old off Inter’s hands for the first half of the 2017-18 season, but he fared no better there as again he only scored once.
Flamengo will redouble their attempts to sign Gabigol full-time after talks with Mario Balotelli fell through, but it seems they will have to talk the player round.
Inter have reportedly been considering curtailing their striker’s time in Brazil after receiving interest from several clubs this summer.
The Nerazzurri must pay Flamengo 5% of any transfer fee they recoup should this happen, but time is running out to organise a sale this month.
