Samuele Longo arrived in La Coruna this afternoon as the Inter striker prepares to join Deportivo on loan, according to reports in Galicia.

La Opinion A Coruna confirmed the 27-year-old was already in the city, where he will move on a permanent basis if Juan Antonio Anquela’s side gain promotion to La Liga this season.

Longo was always due to leave Inter this summer but Antonio Conte temporarily blocked his departure last month as the Nerazzurri battled a striker shortage in preseason.

Depor’s official announcement was described as ‘imminent’, although Longo will not be available for the club’s first league match against Real Oviedo on Sunday.

Longo has already played for five clubs in Spain, following loan spells with Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano, Girona, Tenerife and Huesca.

None of them were prepared to make a permanent investment on the striker, though, nor were Verona, Cagliari or Frosinone in Italy.

Longo scored a stoppage-time equaliser during Inter’s final preseason match on their tour in Asia, helping Conte’s side record a penalty shoot-out win over Paris Saint-Germain in Macao.

He has already proved himself a reliable source of goals in the Segunda Division, netting 26 times in 61 appearances between Girona and Tenerife.
