Inter are Arturo Vidal’s preferred destination if the midfielder leaves Barcelona this month, according to FcInterNews.it.

The Chile international is not part of Ernesto Valverde’s plans this season and is among the official list of players who could be sold.

Barca value Vidal at €15 million but have not excluded the idea of sending him out on loan, a move which would help Inter secure the 31-year-old.

The Nerazzurri would be very interested in seeking a last-minute deal if they can sell Joao Mario first.

Vidal has a very strong relationship with Inter’s new boss Antonio Conte and is prepared to take a small wage cut to move to San Siro.

He is due to earn €7 million in Catalonia between September and June but would be happy to reduce that to €6 million in Italy, with a ‘super bonus’ which would be triggered if Inter win the Scudetto.

Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich is also working on a deal to bring Alexis Sanchez, another of his clients, to Inter, but the forward’s €12 million annual wages are discouraging the Nerazzurri.

Manchester United are prepared to subsidise Sanchez’s salary by 25% to help secure a move to Serie A, but Juventus, Napoli and Milan have decided not to pursue talks.
