Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni has revealed that the Viola are currently considering an offer from Inter for defender Cristiano Biraghi.

“When a club like Inter make an offer for Biraghi, we could not help but evaluate it,” he confirmed in an interview with broadcaster Rai Sport.

Biraghi is seemingly open to a return to Inter, where he came through the youth ranks and he already has an agreement in principle with the Nerazzurri when it comes to personal terms.

The Italian international has agreed to a five year contract with Inter worth €2 million a years. The player is expected to be in Milan on Tuesday or Wednesday to finalise things.

Last season, 26-year-old Biraghi, who is under contract with Fiorentina until 2022, made 40 appearances across all competitions for the Florence based club. In 3555 minutes on the field, the former Pescara player contributed a single goal and provided six assists for his teammates.
