Inter sent scouts to watch Stuttgart’s 21-year-old striker Nico Gonzalez on Saturday, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Gonzalez scored a last-minute winner to secure a 2-1 victory against St Paul in the Bundesliga 2, having been introduced as a substitute after 51 minutes.

The Argentine youngster is left-footed but normally plays on the right wing or as a centre-forward.

Gonzalez made 33 appearances for Stuttgart last season, having joined from Argentinos Juniors in the summer of 2018.

CdS did not clarify whether Inter were seeking a move during the last two weeks of this transfer window or whether Gonzalez was an option for the future.

It seems likely the club’s scouts were simply updating themselves on the forward’s progress, with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio currently focused on other more pressing targets.

Inter have been linked with a move for Gonzalez in the past and they have clearly not forgotten about him since.

He scored three goals in Germany’s second tier last year, providing four assists for Stuttgart too.
