Mauro Icardi is prepared to risk spending an entire season on the sidelines at Inter if he cannot join Juventus this month, according to Corriere della Sera.

The striker’s only chance of leaving the club seems to be via a swap deal, but Inter cannot arrange a switch with Paulo Dybala because they are on terrible terms with the Bianconeri.

Napoli have proposed a swap of their own involving Arkadiusz Milik, but Icardi’s entourage have made it clear they are not interested in joining the Partenopei.

Inter know they could organise such a deal with Napoli right at the end of the transfer window and are therefore hoping Maurito eventually changes his mind.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are finding life much easier when it comes to Cristiano Biraghi, who is expected to join soon from Fiorentina.

The Italy international will return to his boyhood club as soon as Dalbert completes a homecoming of his own, with Nice interested in resigning the full-back.

CdS also confirmed Inter are closing in on a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United, possibly on a free loan with an option to buy for €15 million.

However, Marotta has asked United to help Inter by subsidising a hefty portion of the forward’s €16 million annual wages (bonuses included), because the Nerazzurri cannot afford to pay it all.

Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich is in England to sort the final few details and it seems the transfer is not far away.

Inter could then move for free agent Fernando Llorente in order to complete Antonio Conte’s attacking options this season.
