Matteo Politano’s future at Inter remains in doubt, according to Corriere dello Sport this morning.

The Nerazzurri are plotting a move for either Fernando Llorente or Arkadiusz Milik once they have completed a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.

Antonio Conte wants four strikers to work with this season and the arrival of either would make Politano surplus to requirements.

The Italy international only joined on a permanent basis earlier this summer, having been redeemed from Sassuolo for €20 million.

Inter face competition from Lazio and Napoli themselves if they wish to sign Llorente, who is a free agent after leaving Tottenham in June.

The 34-year-old’s wage demands could discourage the club from pursuing a deal, though, albeit the paper did not specify how much he wanted.

Milik would only be a possible acquisition if Inter could get him in a swap deal with Mauro Icardi, but the latter appears determined to join Juventus and no one else.

Whoever joins between now and 2 September, it seems Politano is unlikely to be a key player under Conte despite an impressive debut season.
