Sebastiano Esposito thanked Antonio Conte today for helping him fulfill his lifelong dream of playing for Inter.
The 17-year-old started all but one of the Nerazzurri’s preseason friendlies as Conte waited for reinforcements in the transfer market.
He is in contention to start Inter’s first Serie A fixture against Lecce next Monday, with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez both unlikely to be match fit.
“I’ve had a magnificent summer,” Esposito told Sky Sport during a special program on young Italian players.
“I won the under-17 league with Inter in June and then I was called up to the first team the following month. I’m happy to be training with these great players and such a great coach.
“It’s a great satisfaction to be playing football as an under-18, this has been my dream ever since I was three years old.”
Esposito has supported Inter his entire life, but he was not born quite early enough to admire Ronaldo during his time at the club.
“Even though I couldn’t watch him, he was an unbelievable player,” the forward added.
