Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last night confirmed there was ‘a chance’ Alexis Sanchez could leave the club this month.

Inter are reportedly very close to agreeing a loan deal for the forward, who was left out of Monday’s Premier League fixture against Wolves.

Solskjaer did not wish to talk at length about Sanchez’s future but the Norwegian said enough to suggest a departure was imminent.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, he told reporters: “There’s still a couple of weeks left of the transfer window and there is a chance…

“Some clubs have shown interest in Alexis, so we’ll see what happens. I can’t update you more than that.”

Inter are widely thought to have offered United a free loan with an option to buy for €15 million, with talks seemingly at an advanced stage.

The clubs will split payment of the player’s wages between them this season, although a full agreement is yet to be reached.

Sanchez scored just one league goal last season as United slumped to a disappointing sixth-place finish.

He has never settled in Manchester after joining the Reds from Arsenal in January 2018.
