Mauro Icardi Paying For ‘Winter Betrayal’ As Inter Close Door On Striker

Inter have frozen Mauro Icardi out because of the striker’s winter flirtations with Juventus, Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed this morning.

The Nerazzurri’s former captain still thinks he can save his career in Milan, but Inter have absolutely no intention of giving him a second chance at the club.

Icardi wants supporters to view his refusal to leave as proof of his love for Inter, but the club themselves do not buy this version of events.

“It’s his inflexible attitude towards the offers he’s received from Monaco and Napoli which has antagonised Inter,” the paper reported this morning.

“The message that’s filtering out of their offices in via della Liberazione is less of a whisper and more of a hiss: ‘If the Icardis love Inter that much, why don’t they accept at least one of these incredible offers?’

Wanda Nara yesterday confirmed Icardi would not be joining Monaco, despite being offered a five-year deal worth €8 million net annually plus bonuses.

Napoli were prepared to offer €7.5 million per season, but the 26-year-old has rejected their advances as well.
