Around 60,000 supporters are expected to be in attendance at San Siro on Monday night for Inter’s Serie A opener against Lecce according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

No less than 37,000 of those that will be there will be season ticket holders with Inter once again having the most season tickets sold in the entire league.

Last season Inter averaged 62,000 fans per game and had a total attendance of 1.1 million, a figure that Inter could well exceed this season with hopes high for Antonio Conte’s debut campaign in charge of the club.

Inter have brought in several big-name signings such as Romelu Lukaku and Diego Godin over the Summer which in themself will contribute to an increase in attendance figures.

The seemingly imminent arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United is sure to boost numbers too. Talks between the clubs are ongoing with reports suggesting Sanchez will join on loan with Inter having an option to buy.
