Romelu Lukaku believes he has joined the second best league in the world by completing a move to Inter.
The Nerazzurri made him the most expensive signing in their history earlier this month, paying an initial €65 million fee to sign him from Manchester United.
Lukaku sat down for a lengthy interview with the LightHearted Podcast back in June, but it was only published on Wednesday.
Asked about the prospect of moving to Italy, he said: “The Premier League is the top but for me the Italian league is second. It’s incredibly difficult to score in Serie A.”
Lukaku also confirmed Inter boss Antonio Conte already tried to sign him while he was coaching Juventus.
“He showed me how I’d have played in his team,” he added.#
“Conte is a great coach, he won three titles at Juventus before leaving them. He took them from rock bottom, after they had finished seventh in Serie A, and led them to victory.
“He even won a league title without losing a match.”
