Inter are determined to send Dalbert to Fiorentina despite the player preferring a return to Nice, according to FcInterNews.it.
The Brazilian accepted a multi-year deal from his former club last weekend, worth €1.5 million net plus bonuses per season, and was expected to sign on a free loan with an option to buy for €12 million.
However, Inter instead want the full-back to join the Viola, whom Dalbert turned down last week, so they can sign Cristiano Biraghi in a swap deal.
Piero Ausilio informed the player’s entourage of the club’s intention to complete a deal with Fiorentina this afternoon.
Dalbert was enthusiastic about the prospect of returning to the Côte d’Azur, where he enjoyed one successful season before signing for Inter in 2017.
His agents told Inter this was their client’s intention in a meeting at the Nerazzurri’s offices yesterday, but now a standoff is on the horizon.
Biraghi has already agreed to rejoin his former club after being offered a five-year deal worth €2 million annually.
Suning are confident of pushing the deal with Fiorentina through, but they will need Dalbert to change his mind first.
Fiorentina’s owner Rocco Commisso, along with his right-hand man Joe Barone and sporting director Daniele Prade, will need to produce a convincing argument to break the 25-year-old’s resistance.
Nice are thought to still be confident of bringing Dalbert back to Ligue 1.
