Alexis Sanchez’s move from Manchester United to Inter is still only a matter of time, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri were hoping to complete a deal yesterday, but talks slowed as the clubs discussed the fee for Inter’s option to buy and how they would divide up Sanchez’s astronomic wages.

Both issues are now resolved but Inter may need to wait for United to sign a replacement before they let Sanchez leave.

The Premier League’s transfer window closed two weeks ago but the Reds are examining the free agent market, with Fernando Llorente in pole position.

Llorente was linked to Inter as a possible understudy to Romelu Lukaku, before the striker reached a rough agreement over personal terms with Napoli.

But United’s late interest appears to have turned the Spaniard’s head, having been contacted by club officials earlier this week.

GdS said Sanchez could even be allowed to leave without United signing a replacement, albeit this remains ‘unlikely’ for the moment.

Inter remain confident they will complete a deal to sign the 30-year-old, who resumed training with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Wednesday after missing United’s Premier League fixture against Wolves.
