Italy and Juventus legend Dino Zoff is confident Antonio Conte will cause his former club problems in Serie A this season.

Expectations have risen at San Siro following his appointment as Inter head coach, with Suning investing more than €150 million into their summer recruitment campaign.

Zoff made a staggering 479 appearances for Juve during the 1970s and 1980s, helping the Bianconeri to six Serie A titles.

The 1982 FIFA World Cup winner told TMW Radio: “Conte’s arrival at Inter is important in itself for the enthusiasm it’s created.

“Inter have reduced the gap to Juventus on paper and they could have a great season.”

Zoff was also asked to comment on Mauro Icardi’s future at the club, as well as the possibility of Inter swapping him for Paulo Dybala.

He added: “Icardi is in a difficult situation but he has a good chance of moving to another club. He’s a great striker.

“We need to find out what Conte and Maurizio Sarri want to judge the idea of a swap deal. Dybala and Icardi are great players but the coaches’ ideas will matter.”
