Sebastiano Esposito and Lucien Agoume were named today as two of Serie A’s most promising young talents for this season.

Gazzetta dello Sport picked 15 ‘ones to watch’ ahead of the big kick-off this weekend, including former Inter strikers Andrea Pinamonti and Yann Karamoh.

Antonio Conte’s side will begin their campaign at home to Lecce on Monday, before traveling to play Cagliari in week two.

On Esposito, GdS said: “We knew Inter had a potential ‘crack’ in their ranks, but after starting throughout preseason we now know he can give his contribution under Conte straightaway.

“Esposito plays with confidence, he’s agile, he can dribble and he’s selfless. He’s a strong presence in the opposition penalty area and he has a powerful shot. He’s like a young Fabio Quagliarella, and not only because he too is from Castellammare.

“He needs to find his ideal position, fill out a little and be patient. He’s already shown everyone what he can do.”

On Agoume: “Conte, who isn’t easily impressed, said he was very impressed. He’s impressed the supporters too: he plays with confidence, he’s a good passer and he’s well built.

“He’s left a club trying to stay up in the French second division to join a Serie A side playing in the Champions League. There’s a mountain of difference between the two.

“If he can adapt quickly then Inter don’t have another midfielder with his skill set. Provided he keeps a calm head, the future is his.”
