Inter are planning to make four signings in the final fortnight of the transfer window, according to Tuttosport.

Alexis Sanchez and Cristiano Biraghi are both close to joining and should complete moves from Manchester United and Fiorentina imminently.

Antonio Conte will then welcome another central midfielder, with Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic thought to be the club’s preferred pair.

Inter’s fourth acquisition will be an understudy to Romelu Lukaku and Fernando Llorente is their first choice.

Conte is prepared to take personal responsibility for any off-pitch misdemeanours Vidal may get up to in Milan, following Inter’s unsuccessful experience with Radja Nainggolan last season.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are working patiently on a deal for the Chilean, in the hope Barcelona forget their €20 million asking price and agree to let Vidal leave on a paid loan with an option to buy.

Rakitic represents Inter’s first alternative to Vidal, but Juventus are currently ahead of the Nerazzurri in terms of a move for the Croatian.

Inter were heavily linked to the 2018 World Cup finalist earlier this year but talk surrounding Rakitic has cooled since.

Llorente is Conte’s first choice with regard to a fourth striker, following Edin Dzeko’s decision to sign a new deal with Roma.

But Napoli are also interested in the Spaniard and will step up their pursuit if Mauro Icardi continues to reject them.

Llorente would be more than happy to sign for Inter and is open to negotiating his €4 million net annual salary.

However, the 34-year-old wants a deal to be sorted quickly so he does not run the risk being left with no club at all come September.
