Valentino Lazaro believes he is working for ‘one of the best coaches in the world’ after joining up with Antonio Conte at Inter.

The Austrian full-back gave a lengthy interview to Transfermarkt on Thursday and was gushing with praise for the Nerazzurri’s new head coach.

Conte will take charge of his first competitive fixture on Monday when Inter play Lecce at San Siro.

Lazaro said: “He wants and he lives for trophies. You can sense it in him and the fire he transfers to players.

“The comments he makes on your movements in training are always copious. I’ve already learned new things from a tactical perspective.

“It’s fantastic working with a coach like that. Every player can keep developing under his guidance.”

Lazaro said it would be ‘a dream’ to win the Scudetto with Conte this season, despite admitting Juventus remained clear favourities.

“We want to start well and I hope we can stay in the fight for as long as possible,” he added.

“You can feel in the city that something big is happening. You can sense an atmosphere of optimism everywhere you go.”

The 23-year-old also discussed Austria’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Latvia and Poland.

“We want to give everything against Latvia in Salzburg to justify our status as favourites in this qualification group,” Lazaro concluded.

“Then we’d like to build on that against Poland. If we go there with a win under our belts we’ll take confidence from that. We have the qualities to win there as well.”
