Inter have not managed to complete a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez today, according to Sky Sport.
The Nerazzurri are in constant contact with Manchester United, but they have still not agreed on how to divide up the €12 million Sanchez is due between September and June.
Sanchez is eager to return to Serie A but he will have to wait a little longer before joining up with Antonio Conte.
Inter will intensify their attempts to break the impasse from the start of next week, aware the problem is solely of an economic nature.
Cristiano Biraghi is also hoping to arrive in Milan after the weekend, but the Fiorentina full-back needs Dalbert to accept a move in the other direction.
Dalbert has accepted he stands little chance of rejoining Nice, following the French club’s failure to agree a deal with Inter, but has yet to agree to sign for the Viola.
Inter and Fiorentina have already agreed a swap deal and the clubs are hoping the Brazilian will jump on board when he realises this is his only way out of Inter this summer.
Biraghi’s agent Mario Giuffredi held talks with Fiorentina consultant Joe Barone last night, later telling reporters the club would have the final say on this transfer.
Sky also confirmed Mauro Icardi has not changed his mind yet about wanting to stay at Inter.
The striker is confident he can convince Conte to give him a second chance if he is allowed to resume full training.
Inter have reiterated to Icardi that he no longer has a future with them, but Maurito is unwilling to move city or swap clubs.
The TV station pointed out Conte was unlikely to break a pact he had made with the club about removing Icardi from their plans, meaning a return to first-team action is highly unlikely.
