Antonio Candreva has warned his Inter teammates they will have to be at their best to beat Lecce on Monday.

Antonio Conte’s side have impressed throughout preseason, earning creditable draws against the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.

Candreva will start at right wing-back at San Siro and encouraged the Nerazzurri today not to take their eye off the ball.

“We know by now that there are no easy games in Serie A,” he told InterTV.

“Teams tend to play an open game even when they come to San Siro now. We’ll have to be humble, prepare the game as best we can and approach it in the best manner possible.

“San Siro has always given us great support while I’ve been here and the fans will be important again on Monday.”

Asked for a verdict on his new wing-back position, Candreva added: “It’s tiring, but it’s the same for everyone because the coach always asks us to give our best regardless of where we play.”
