Inter are second only to Juventus in Serie A in terms of revenue from shirt sponsorship deals, according to Tuttosport.

A similar reported in Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this week suggested the Nerazzurri were actually fifth, behind the likes of Sassuolo, Roma and Milan.

However, Sporteconomy.it editor Marcel Vulpis confirmed Inter earned €19 million from their agreements with Pirelli (on the front of their shirt) and Driver (on the back).

Juventus earn €23 million annually, while five clubs in Italy’s top flight do not have any main sponsors at all.

Pirelli’s current deal expires in 2021 and it seems unlikely Suning will agree to extend it any further, having identified shirt sponsors as one area where they can increase the club’s annual turnover.

Gazzetta’s financial correspondent Marco Iaria reported yesterday: “Juventus and Inter both have deals which no longer respect the club’s commercial value, which is growing globally.

“Pirelli guarantee Inter lots of bonuses but the Nerazzurri aspire to earn a lot more.”
