Mauro Icardi remains determined to earn a second chance at Inter from Antonio Conte, according to Sky Sport.

The striker has never expressed a desire to leave the Nerazzurri this summer and is continuing to reiterate his position with less than two weeks until the transfer window shuts.

Maurito is convinced he can persuade Conte to go against everything Inter have said and done as a club since the start of June and bring him back into the first-team fold.

He is nonetheless expected to be left out of Inter’s squad for their first game of the new Serie A season against Lecce on Monday.

Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara appeared to confirm the couple’s desire to stay in Milan with another telling post on social media yesterday.

Tweeting a picture of herself alongside other Inter players’ wives, having attended Lautaro Martinez’s birthday party, she said: “Another year together.”
