Matias Vecino is likely to get the nod over Roberto Gagliardini in midfield when Inter play Lecce on Monday night, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Uruguay international arrived late for preseason after the Celeste’s participation at the Copa America, albeit he only played one match after picking up an injury.
But Antonio Conte is expected to pick the former Fiorentina man to start alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Stefano Sensi in midfield.
Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez will start up front, although neither player is expected to last for 90 minutes at San Siro.
Samir Handanovic will keep his place in goal under Conte while Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar are to play in defence with Diego Godin out injured.
Antonio Candreva and Kwadwo Asamoah will be favoured over Valentino Lazaro and Federico Dimarco in the wing-back positions.
Inter’s probable starting XI (3-5-2): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar; Candreva, Vecino, Brozovic, Sensi, Asamoah; Lukaku, Lautaro.
