Antonio Conte’s arrival as manager of Inter has given Antonio Candreva a new lease of life according to a report from Tuttosport.
Having struggled for regular play-time in the past two seasons, it was largely expected that Candreva would leave the club this Summer however that has not been the case and he has instead been given another chance at the club by Conte.
The pair previously worked together with the Italian national team and Conte was such a fan of Candreva during that spell together that he tried to take him to Chelsea whilst he was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The 32-year-old, who still has two years left to run on his contract with the Nerazzurri, will be one of the players that Conte calls upon to play at right wing-back this season and he seems almost certain to start Monday’s Serie A 19.20 season opener against newly promoted Lecce at San Siro.
