Gazzetta dello Sport believe that this season’s Serie A title is by no means as much of a foregone conclusion as in season’s gone by.
The Milan based news outlet believe that Maurizio Sarri will need some time at Juventus to get his methods through to his new players and this is something that could benefit other sides.
Napoli for example, with the exception of the second week when they face Juventus, have quite a kind opening six fixtures and this is something that manager Carlo Ancelotti will be hopeful of taking full advantage of.
The Stadio San Paolo are on a similar level to Juventus when it comes to the defence and midfield but would need to sign Mauro Icardi to come anywhere close to the quality of Juventus’ frontline.
The report goes on to state that Inter are already looking fierce too with thanks to new manager Antonio Conte although they are lacking in both midfield and in attack.
Juventus are still considered favourites but the increased competitiveness in the league will make this their hardest title defence for some time.
