In his pre-match press conference, Lecce manager Fabio Liverani has heaped praise upon tomorrow night’s opponents Inter.

“Inter were built to achieve important objectives, with a great coach like Antonio Conte and a team ready to challenge for a place in Europe’s top 10,” he told the gathered media.

“They want to be on top, but they too are at the start of their journey and have made many changes over the summer. We will see if they are ready to challenge immediately.

“Football is about your performance and that of the opposition, so we will try to control the tempo, but it won’t always be possible.

He concluded his presser by discussing the club’s objectives for the season.

“We are still trying to figure out how our campaign will go. We want to achieve our objective of Serie A safety with our identity intact.

“It is important to maintain balance over these 38 matches to win our Scudetto, which is Serie A safety. My team must understand that games like tomorrow, even with all the difficulties involved, cannot knock our enthusiasm.”
