Former Inter attacker Ruben Sosa believes Inter have picked up a ‘born captain’ in compatriot Diego Godin, who has arrived at the club on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid.

“Godin has had a spectacular career. He has joined a team that for me is the best in Italy and one of the best in Europe. He can greatly help Inter to win. He brings a lot of experience and he is a born captain,” he told Uruguayan news outlet El Observador.

Sosa then shared his views on new Inter manager Antonio Conte, who is highly regarded in the footballing world.

“I played against Conte during his playing days. He was a fierce competitor who always liked to win. He has so many qualities as a coach. He is both competent and intelligent and when he was playing you could see that he would become a good manager. Inter have brought him in so they can win again.”
