The proposed transfer of Chilean international striker Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United to Inter is not affected in any way by the injury of French attacker Anthony Martial’s injury, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

According to the report, talks between the two clubs are ongoing and both parties are keen to see an agreement reached which would see the former Barcelona and Arsenal player return to the Serie A.

“New contacts have taken place between Inter and Manchester United. The Nerazzurri are very optimistic that an agreement can be found.

“Martial’s injury, sustained during the match against Crystal Palace on August 24th, have not changed the situation at United for the Chilean attacker.”

“The discussion remains the player’s wages which last season where set at €12 million net, this season his wages have been reduced by 25% at United due to lack of Champions League participation. Inter do not want to spend more than €5 million, asking United to pay a majority of the player’s wages. Talks are ongoing.”
