Antonio Candreva told Inter supporters he was out for redemption this season after scoring in their 4-0 win over Lecce.

The Italian found the net with a stunning shot from 40 yards after goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Stefano Sensi and Romelu Lukaku had brought the match under control.

Candreva enjoyed a successful period playing for Italy while Conte was in charge and he confirmed he was pleased to be reunited with him.

He told Dazn: “Conte is the right coach for any player. Last year I lost a year and now I’d like to redeem myself with my teammates.

“I’m happy to have scored but most of all to have won. We put in the performance we wanted.

“All I can say about my goal is that the ball left my foot well and it found the net. My dedication was all for my wife Allegra.”

Inter will play their next match away to Cagliari on Sunday evening, before pausing for the first international break of the season.
