Inter cannot sign another midfielder in the final four days of the transfer window unless Borja Valero is sold, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri have completed their attacking department by bringing in Alexis Sanchez on loan from Manchester United, with Cristiano Biraghi reinforcing their options in defence.

Antonio Conte is reported by various sources in Italy to want another midfielder before the market closes on Monday evening.

But Inter must find a buyer for Valero before they can sign anyone else, despite Joao Mario’s move to Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this week.

Valero was an unused substitute on Monday as Inter beat Lecce 4-0 in their Serie A opener at San Siro.

He was heavily linked with a return to Fiorentina several weeks ago, but the Viola no longer seem interested in resigning the Spaniard.

Valero made 38 appearances in all competitions under Luciano Spalletti last season, who persuaded Inter to invest more than €5 million on him in 2017.

He is considered surplus to requirements under Conte but appears set to stay in Milan nonetheless.
