Alexis Sanchez wants to make his debut for Inter against Cagliari on Sunday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The forward completed a season-long loan move from Manchester United yesterday, returning to Italy after an eight-year absence.

Sanchez had to fly back to England on Thursday for bureaucratic reason, but he trained alone at Appiano Gentile with Antonio Conte’s staff upon returning.

He will begin training with the rest of Inter’s first team today, meaning he is facing a race against time to make Conte’s squad for the trip to Sardinia.

GdS suggested the fact Sanchez was training last night was a sign he wanted to be involved at the Sardegna Arena this weekend.

The Chilean could potentially fly out with Conte’s side and take a place on the substitutes’ bench, although it remains to be seen how many minutes he has in his legs.

Sanchez will be reunited at Inter with his former United teammate Lukaku, with whom he shared a positive relationship in Manchester.

Lukaku scored on his full debut against Lecce on Monday and will be hoping to find the net again on his second competitive appearance.
