Joao Mario was left out of Portugal’s squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers yesterday.

The midfielder was one of the Selecao’s star players three years ago when Fernando Santos’ side stunned everyone by becoming European champions in France.

Inter have sold Mario on loan with an option to buy for Lokomotiv Moscow, with the 26-year-old hoping to find regular game-time in the Russian Premier League.

Portugal will play Serbia in Belgrade next Friday before traveling to play Lithuania in another away fixture three days later.
