Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident Alexis Sanchez will kick-start his career again at Inter.
The Chilean completed a season-long loan move to the Nerazzurri on Thursday and will be reunited in Milan with his former United teammate Romelu Lukaku.
Antonio Conte is likely to play the pair up front together on a regular basis this season and Solskjaer told reporters today he will be tuning in to watch.
“Alexis needed to go,” he said at a press conference.
“At the moment, we know he’s been here for 18 months and it’s not really worked out for him. For him to restart and get himself playing regularly and scoring goals that will only benefit everyone in the end.
“For us, we’re going to watch every weekend to see Lukaku and Alexis playing together.”
Solskjaer is unlikely to get his first glimpse of Inter’s new-look front two this weekend because Sanchez may not be involved in Sunday’s fixture against Cagliari.
The 30-year-old will hope to make his first start under Conte when Inter resume Serie A action against Udinese after the international break.
