Mauro Icardi’s decision to sue Inter for up to €1.5 million might be a last-ditch attempt to force a move to Juventus, according to Corriere della Sera.

The striker has begun legal action against the Nerazzurri in a bid to obtain full reintegration into first-team training.

Inter had already received a letter two weeks ago from one of his representatives, Giuseppe Di Carlo, requesting Antonio Conte allowed him to take part in tactical exercises at Appiano Gentile.

“Icardi will forfeit his legal challenge the moment he leaves Inter,” CdS reported in its online edition tonight.

“Fabio Paratici made further contact with Wanda Nara today, but the upcoming match against Napoli and Giorgio Chiellini’s serious knee injury are providing a distraction for the Bianconeri at the moment.

“If Juventus can sell some of their forwards beforehand, Monday will be a scintillating day. That’s what those close to the club are assuring.”

It remains to be seen what impact tonight’s developments will have on Maurito’s immediate future, if any, with only three days left until the transfer window shuts.

Reports elsewhere on Friday night claimed Monaco had withdrawn their interest for the forward, having previously offered Icardi an annual wage worth €10 million after tax.
