Antonio Conte will ensure Inter are ready to take advantage of any slip-ups from Juventus in Serie A this season, according to the Nerazzurri’s former striker Aldo Serena.

Inter got their league campaign off to the best possible start on Monday as they defeated Lecce 4-0 at San Siro.

Conte’s side will be looking to make it six points from six when they play Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena tomorrow.

Serena told TMW Radio: “Conte is one of very few coaches who can transfer his ideas to players and create a team in his image in a short space of time.

“If Juventus were to falter in the league Inter are prepared to seize the moment. Napoli are competitive as well but they’re missing something big.”

Inter face another grueling Champions League group this season after being drawn alongside Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Slavia Prague.

Asked about the Nerazzurri’s chances in Europe, Serena added: “The draw didn’t go well for them. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund can cause you problems.

“It’s the hardest draw of the Italian sides but they’ll be competitive.”
