Francesco Totti is confident Antonio Conte and Romelu Lukaku will make Inter serious title challengers this season.

Lukaku scored on his full debut earlier this week as the Nerazzurri beat Lecce in their Serie A opener at San Siro.

Totti said Juventus remained the team to beat this year but assured it would be a more competitive title race.

“Juventus, Napoli and Inter have all strengthened so for the other teams it’s a fight to finish between fourth and seventh,” he told Rai Sport.

“Conte is an extra weapon for Inter because he’s one of the best coaches in Europe.

“Lukaku, meanwhile, is phenomenal. He can play up front on his own without any problems, he’s devastating.”

Inter’s second fixture of the new league season will be away to Cagliari on Sunday evening.

Conte’s side have an opportunity to steal a march on both Juventus and Napoli as the two teams meet in Turin.
