Inter are ready to do battle with Mauro Icardi after the striker began legal action against the club this week, according to Sport Mediaset.
Maurito is demanding full reintegration into first-team training, having been excluded from tactical sessions all summer, along with €1.5 million in damages.
Inter did not expect their former captain to take such a drastic decision but are prepared to put Icardi back in his place.
The Nerazzurri’s chief lawyer Angelo Capellini was spotted at Appiano Gentile on Saturday, along with president Steven Zhang and sporting director Piero Ausilio.
Inter have little more than 48 hours to offload Icardi and do not appear to be close to a deal with any club.
Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed timid interest in a loan deal, but Monaco are no longer interested.
Juventus remain Icardi’s first choice if he leaves but the Bianconeri have not made any official contact with Inter to start talks.
The Argentine’s legal case will be automatically dropped should he depart Inter before Monday’s transfer deadline.
