With Mauro Icardi having launched legal action against Inter, the two parties are at war and Inter are expected to respond by Tuesday according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Icardi’s lawyer Giuseppe Di Carlo sent a copy of the 15-page document to the club a few days back with the document soon ending up on social media and available for all to see.

The document describes several ‘clearly discriminatory events’ from the stripping of the club captaincy without any valid reason, being stripped of his shirt number, exclusion from any marketing campaigns in recent months, the fact he is considered out of the team to being forced to follow a different training plan away from his teammates.

All of the current Inter first-team will be called upon to provide their version of events having been named in the document.

The report goes on to state that the club, having met with a lawyer, are completely convinced they have not done anything wrong and did not break any rules.

The club believe it is down to them who is the captain, the shirt number does not belong to a player but the club and that it is up to the club who features in marketing material.

Inter also believe that with regards to Icardi’s exclusion from first-team activity, that is entirely down to manager Antonio Conte, who participates and who doesn’t.
