Danilo D’Ambrosio has signed a one year contract extension with Inter according to a report from respected Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Inter defender, who has been with the club since the January of 2014, signed the contract prior to Inter’s 2-1 victory away to Cagliari last night and the contract extension will be deposited with the Lega Serie A today.

His contract with the club will now run to the end of the 2021/22 season.

D’Ambrosio has started both of Inter’s Serie A games to date this season and played as a centre back in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system, opposed to his traditional right back/right wing back position.

The 30-year-old, who is also a full Italian international, has made no less than 179 appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt since his arrival at the club from fellow Serie A outfit Torino. He has scored 12 goals and tallied 17 assists in his time with the club.
