Andrew Gravillon’s agent Oscar Damiani has explained the reasoning behind his client joining Ascoli on loan on deadline day from Sassuolo, who Inter loaned him to earlier this Summer.

“There was a lot of competition for places at Sassuolo and even more so after they brought in other defenders in the final days of the transfer window. The player therefore saw that there was little space for him and made this choice, which Inter endorsed,” Damiani explained in an interview with FCInterNews.it

“He has decided to take a step back, with the goal of playing as a starter at just 21 years of age in Serie B which will allow him to continue to grow. For a young boy like him it is better to have another year as a starter in B than be a reserve in Serie A.

Damiani concluded by revealing that Gravillon had other options than Ascoli.

“There were foreign clubs interest, especially from Ligue 1 in France, but we preferred to continue in Italy.”
