Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at how Inter’s new signings have fared since arriving at the club over the Summer and they are particularly excited about Romelu Lukaku and Stefano Sensi.

“Romelu Lukaku has scored two goals, which is certainly not a bad start and has helped people quickly forget about Mauro Icardi,” the report from the Milan based news outlet begins.

“Stefano Sensi has meanwhile shown a lot of quality and his trickery that won Inter their penalty against Cagliari made the fans eyes light up. The former Sassuolo midfielder has made the biggest impact of the new signings at the club. Conte could not have imagined him reaching such high levels and can now not do without him.”

The report continues by looking at the other players: “Inter have kept up pace with Juventus and closed the transfer market strongly. The two matches so far this season have shown what Inter could become and it must not be forggotten that from Godin to Barella,  through Lazaro to Sanchez and Biraghi are yet to break the ice.

“Barella is slowly getting involved, while Godin has already shown what he is made of in the final part of match with Cagliari. Sanchez is a player that Conte intends to win with. Bringing the Chilean back to the top would mean giving Inter would have a real top player on their hands.

“As for Valentino Lazaro, the Austrian arrived for €21 million but has not been seen since the pre-season training camp in Lugano due to injury. Given that since mid-July he has done very little and in Serie A he has not yet made his debut, it will take time for him to be at the level of the teammates.”
