Prior to signing Mauro Icardi from Inter last night, Paris Saint Germain made a last-ditch attempt to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus according to a report from Sky Sport.
PSG director and former Inter manager Leonardo reached out to Juventus but was told that they would have to stump up a sum of €10 million to take Dybala on loan.
Upon being told this, Leonardo switched his attention to Dybala’s Argentine compatriot Icardi and resumed contact with Icardi’s wife, and agent, Wanda Icardi before going on to secure him on a loan with option to buy basis.
As per the report from the broadcaster, Inter agreed to send Icardi out on loan without any cost attached with the option to buy set at €70 million.
Icardi has agreed to a five-year contract with the Parc des Princes side which comes with a slight salary raise compared to what he is earning at Inter.
