Respected journalist Mario Sconcerti has revealed his belief that there are currently no winners in Mauro Icardi’s exit from Inter to Paris Saint Germain.
The Argentine striker completed a deadline day switch to the French capital on a loan with option to buy basis which put an end to the long-running saga.
“Who won in the end? There is no answer to that question. Icardi has left Inter just like the leadership wanted but they have not taken a single penny for him for now,” he remarked in an interview with CalcioMercato.com.
“The first response is that club and player are on the same level, neither the employer nor the employee exists: they are two parallel entities. Was it worth it? Inter had to come up with alternative plans in the transfer market, a fake happiness began for Icardi and it is a story that changes football.
He concluded: “Is it possible to refuse very rich transfers, and where does the rights of a club and those of the player end?”
