Former Inter midfielder Santiago Solari has shared his thoughts on Inter’s early season form.

“I like to see Inter doing well and they have done just that by starting the season well,” the Spaniard, who was recently the manager of Real Madrid, told broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“In Milan I had three fantastic years and won some silverware with the club. It is not as easy nowadays for Inter, who have to fight with Napoli, Juventus and Milan. Manager Antonio Conte has brought competitiveness to the team and we all want to see Inter still at the top.”

He was also asked about Mauro Icardi’s transfer deadline day exit from Inter to Paris Saint Germain yesterday and whether or not he felt it was inevitable to which he responded: “I don’t know if Icardi’s exit from Inter can be considered inevitable or not. I would prefer not to comment on this.”
