Serie A is becoming an increasingly international league with the number of foreign players plying their trade in Italy increasing according to a report from Corriere della Sera.
60.4% of players who played in the first round of Serie A action were not Italian and Serie A is the league with the highest % of foreign players.
Only four in every 10 players in Serie A are currently Italian and Corriere della Sera believe that this can be put down to recent law changes relating to taxation of players to come from abroad meaning they will be taxed at just 50%.
Due to the law, Italian clubs are now able to offer even larger salaries to foreigners, similarly to what happens in Spain due to the Beckham law.
Inter have used this new law to great effect and it helped them land both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez over the course of the recently closed Summer transfer window.
