A few days on from the closure of the Summer transfer market, journalist Mario Sconcerti has given his opinion on how Inter did.

“It was a convulsive transfer window poisoned by the Mauro Icardi drama and a little suffocated by Antonie Conte’s demands so they get a 7/10,” he wrote in a column for Corriere della Sera.

“Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta deserves an 8 although he spent too much on Romelu Lukaku. He did come up with a very fine deal for Alexis Sanchez though and won the war against Juventus’ Fabio Paratici.”

“Lukaku is taking the place of Icardi who has always scored lots of goals. Lukaku’s only advantage over Icardi is that Conte wanted him.

“I really like the signing of Nicolo Barella, who is playing very little at the moment as Matias Vecino is good too. Stefano Sensi is growing and is the perfect mezzala who reminds me of a young Giancarlo De Sisti. Sensi has taken the place of a great player in Radja Nainggolan. In the end, the real difference will be made by Conte.”
