Former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli is of the belief that Summer recruit Alexis Sanchez can be Inter’s ‘secret weapon’ this season.

The 30-year-old Chilean attacker has joined the Nerazzurri on a season long dry loan from Premier League outfit Manchester United in a bid to put his Old Trafford nightmare behind him and get back to the player everyone knows he can be.

“He is a player we know very well in Italy, who offers many variables to Antonio Conte’s side,” Altobelli told Chilean news outlet La Cuarta.

“Alexis can play as a centre-forward or as a second striker, but also on the wing. Inter are a team who have wanted to win silverware for a while now and this can be a great season for them, as they have a strong squad, including Sanchez.

“Juventus remain ahead, but the Chilean can be the secret weapon for Inter to snatch the Scudetto from the Bianconeri.”
